The
Music
14 years strong and located in the heart of Chicago, Beat Kitchen is
emerging as one of the top music venues in the Midwest. Featuring up
and coming acts from around the globe, the music spans the spectrum
from indie, garage, alternative, rock-a-billy, punk, emo, and hard rock,
to folk, funk, alt-country, pop and everything in between. With professional
stage, lighting, and sound, Beat Kitchen is a hotspot for both up-and-coming
and established touring acts. Some of the most well-respected performers
along with some of the underground's best have graced our stage and
continue to do so each and every week. A short list of these artists
include They Might Be Giants, Reverend Horton Heat, Silkworm, Leon Russell,
Sonic Boom & Spectrum, Junior Brown, Old 97s, Holly Golightly, Hasil
Adkins, Slobberbone, The Creation, Bob Log III, High On Fire, and so
many, many more.
We also proudly
represent the local music scene, giving Chicago bands a place where
they can play to an appreciative audience of Chicagoland music fans.
The list of Windy City acts that have performed at Beat Kitchen is a
mile long and is representative of a number of musical styles. On that
extensive list are bands and musicians that have gone on to receive
national and international recognition, including The New Duncan Imperials,
Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, Waco Brothers, Veruca Salt, Material Issue,
Kelly Hogan, the Gaza Strippers, and Robbie Fulks, just to name a few.
Whether its a new
local band that catches our interest or the most established touring
artist, we take the time to put together quality music bills with bands
that compliment each other. Our entire team, from the owner and bar
staff to the people running our bookings, production and PR, take pride
in working together to make each show a pleasurable experience for both
the musicians who play here and their fans.
The
Food
In addition to being
a music venue, we offer the city of Chicago great food and a wide selection
of imported and domestic beers seven days a week. Our restaurant and
bar continues to receive accolades from Chicagoans and food critics
for its eclectic menu which features gourmet pizza, mouthwatering burgers
and sandwiches, scrumptious appetizers and divine salads. Centerstage.net
raves "Don't miss Beat Kitchen's tangy Thai pizza and also
lists the multi-ingredient Beat Salad and the Blackened
Chicken Sandwich as "sure bets". Citysearch.com says, "
You really can't go wrong with the tasty grilled and baked dishes."
So, be sure to come in a little early before the show starts, sit down
and enjoy great food at an affordable price served up by our friendly
wait staff!
The
Future
Now in
our 14th year, we remain committed to our original goals of bringing
patrons quality live music, great food and a diverse choice of drinks.
In 2004, we continue to offer the services and enjoyable atmosphere
we have presented since 1990, and will continue to welcome more exciting
and diverse musical acts to our stage. See you soon!
Warmest Regards,
The Beat Kitchen
