Wray
Wray
Though new, WRAY’s involvement in the music community starts over a decade ago with such bands as Last Flight In, Comrade, Nightmare Waterfall, and a handful of other projects you might not have had the chance to see if “punk rock” just isn’t your scene.

Their self-titled release was recorded in their hometown of Birmingham, Alabama at Ol Elegante Studio and engineer Daniel Farris (Man Or Astro-man?, St. Vincent) managed to capture the atmospheric beauty that comes with every live show. This three piece demands the attention of a real rock show.

Wray isn’t afraid to revel in repetition, churning (like butter) confident, seamless grooves firmly in the tradition of NEU!, Faust, or Can. Their shimmering, headphone-ready tones owe much to Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, and even The Cure, but without the crippling self-absorption of chillwave, dreampop, or whatever all the sad bastards are listening to this week.
Tiny Fireflies
Tiny Fireflies
Tiny Fireflies are Lisle and Kristine from the Chicago-based indiepop-band Very Truly Yours, or, Lisle from Fireflies and Kristine from Tiny Microphone. Together as a duo, they are Tiny Fireflies.
Moon
Moon
Moon: Heavy, melodic, spacious, echo-laden guitars, post-rock bass, shifting time signatures, haunting ethereal vocals. Moon formed in 2009 when Chris met David through craigslist and invited in Pat, a bassist he'd tried out with before. The sound they made was instantly spacious and chiming. Within writing a few songs, the sound of the band grew heavier and more propulsive.

The group played some initial shows in small clubs in late 2010, and early 2011.

After an early EP, Started In The Dark, Moon recorded their debut album in 2012. Finding and Losing the Light featured six songs including the titular two song suite.

Bigger shows followed, opening for Sleepy Sun and Hounds Below at Double Door, opening for Driftless Pony Club at Subterranean, Blood Red Shoes at Subterranean, and Kinski at Subterranean. In addition, Moon headlined their own show with local bands Nature Show and Royale.

In 2012 Moon recorded their follow-up EP, Always Summer.

Pat decided to follow his dreams and left for Brooklyn at the end of 2012. After an exhausting search, Moon found new bass player Chris Shen, formerly of A Birdsong Valentine.
